Illustration FAQs

What do you offer?

Signs, tattoos, book covers, book illustrations and chapter headings, posters and so much more.

What are your prices for illustration?

Please contact me at beckybooneart@outlook.com and tell me what you have in mind. I generally answer emails within a day or two of receipt. There is no charge for consultation!

A note about book illustrations: I do not illustrate books for free and then share profits with the author. I charge for my work up front; the author keeps the profits from the book.

How does it work and how long will it take?

You and I will agree on the scope of the project, and I will begin my research. Within about 3 weeks (depending on my workload) I will send you a rough sketch(es). Once we are agreed, we will sign a contract detailing the scope, schedule and cost of the project. I require 1/2 payment before I finalize your art. I will contact you if I have any questions or need clarification. You are welcome to contact me during this time, too. The finalization will depend on the size and complexity of the art. Once the final artwork is finished, I will email you a watermarked image(s) along with an invoice for the balance due. When payment is received, the illustration(s) will be sent via Dropbox or emailed to you within about four days.

Who retains the copyright and the original illustration?

I retain the copyright to all the artwork I make. We can discuss the ultimate ownership of the illustration(s) and the price for that. I also retain the right to use the illustration(s) for advertising and other promotion. You may use the illustration(s) for promoting the book/event/project that falls within the scope of the project.
